As we step into 2025, I’m excited to reflect on the incredible journey that Emerging Leaders United (ELU) has experienced—and the even more exciting path that lies ahead. This year marks a milestone for ELU as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of our group and the 100th anniversary of United Way of Berks County. It’s an honor to serve as the Cabinet Vice Chair, and I couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the opportunities we have to continue making a meaningful impact in our community.
My own journey with ELU began shortly after moving to Berks County. After settling in and building my career, I realized that something was missing—my connection to service. I was searching for a way to give back, and a simple Google search led me to ELU. From there, everything changed. I dove into volunteering and participating in events, and I quickly saw the profound impact that ELU and the United Way have on Berks County. That experience inspired me to take on the role of Vice Chair, where I now get to work alongside passionate individuals who share a commitment to positive change.
One of my most memorable moments as an ELU member has been volunteering at the Olivet Boys & Girls Club during the holidays. The joy of seeing kids’ faces light up when Santa arrives and experiencing the excitement of holiday crafts and treats is truly special. It’s in these moments of connection that I feel the power of our mission.
As we move into 2025, I’m filled with anticipation for the work we will continue to do together. This year is full of potential, and I can’t wait to see how our members contribute to the community’s growth and success. If you’re considering joining us, my advice is simple: take the leap! Sign up for an event, dive into the experience, and you’ll find yourself connected to amazing people and causes, all while having fun and giving back.
Here’s to a year of growth, community, and impactful service. I look forward to everything we’ll accomplish together!
